Gary Finnegan to Head Project Management, Australia & New Zealand

28 January 2016

Savills is delighted to announce the promotion of Gary Finnegan to Managing Director of Project Management, Savills Australia and New Zealand.

Mr Finnegan steps up from his role as Chief Operations Officer of the Australia and New Zealand Project Management business. This follows the recent promotion of Savills Managing Director of Project Management, Phill Andrew, to Head of Worldwide Occupier Services – Australia and New Zealand

Paul McLean, Savills CEO Australia & New Zealand said, “Gary has a reputation as someone who delivers and can bring about key changes to the business therefore this was a logical internal succession plan which has been in the works for some time.”

Mr Finnegan joined Incoll Management in 2006, a company which was acquired by Savills in 2010. Following the acquisition, the expertise, professionalism and knowledge displayed by Mr Finnegan was recognised and a growth strategy was put in motion. Since then Mr Finnegan has held a number of senior roles from General Manager Savills Project Management (QLD) through to Chief Operations Officer of the Australasia Project Management business. His success displayed in these roles clearly earned Gary the promotion to Managing Director.

Phill Andrew added, “Gary has worked closely with myself and the other State Directors in running the Project Management business across Australasia, in his current capacity as Chief Operations Officer. The strategic focus of this important service line remains critical to the continued growth of professional services, and the entire business, throughout Asia Pacific, and I am confident that Gary will lead those initiatives.”

The Project Management business has grown and excelled over the years. Under the leadership of Phill Andrew, the team has been awarded a number of awards for their performance, skillset and professionalism, including the coveted Project Management Team of the Year for three consecutive years (2015, 2014 and 2013) by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

“I am delighted and thrilled by the challenge and I look forward to taking the Australasia Project Management team to the next level of success throughout 2016 and beyond,” added Mr Finnegan.

Mr McLean added, “Savills prides itself on not only employing the best but in ensuring the growth of our people. We understand the importance of succession planning, talent management and the promotional opportunities of our people, therefore I am delighted by the recent internal promotion of Gary Finnegan and wish him every success in his new role.”
