Haffner Centre (Sopot)

28 September 2018

Haffner Centre is a prime retail and service complex with a total area of 12,200 sq m. It is located at 63 Bohaterów Monte Cassino Street in Sopot, opposite Dom Zdrojowy (Spa House). The complex, which was delivered to the market in 2009, comprises three above-ground floors in its western wing and four floors in its eastern wing, and an underground car park. Haffner Centre is a typical social shopping centre with a strong presence of leisure and F&B options and a limited proportion of space allocated to traditional retailing. Since mid-2018, it has been owned by EuroEast 2 BV, represented in Poland by Greenstone.

“Haffner Centre has transformed Przyjaciół Sopotu Square. Professional F&B and service facilities appropriate to the potential of one of Poland’s busiest promenades were opened in this once slightly run-down area. The complex has helped create a focal meeting and leisure destination in the area for inhabitants of the city and tourists. A high-quality F&B and leisure offer has recently become critical in the retail sector. We want to help the new owner to improve the attractiveness of the scheme and adapt it to current trends,” said Monika Janczewska-Leja, Head of Retail Advisory & Transactions, Savills.

“We don’t want to make sweeping changes, but the upcoming improvements will certainly constitute a new opening for Haffner Centre and meet the expectations of customers attracted to this highly prestigious location,” said Marcin Gajewski, Management Board Member of Greenstone.

All potential solutions to further enhance the offer of Haffner Centre are currently being reviewed. These include bringing new F&B operators in and opening the rear of the complex with new shopfronts along Królowej Jadwigi Street. Savills will act as a project adviser to Greenstone and an exclusive leasing agent in the recommercialisation process.
