Prologis signs 15,000 sq m lease extension with HEMA in Utrecht, the Netherlands

Prologis has signed a long-term lease extension with retail chain HEMA for the Prologis Park Utrecht DC2 building, located at Rutherfordweg 50 in Utrecht, the Netherlands. DC2 comprises 14,474 sq m of logistics space and 609 sq m of office space.

HEMA carries out all national e-commerce activities from the location at Rutherfordweg. The national distribution centre of HEMA is also located at the Lage Weide business park.

Prologis recently modernised the building, by renovating the office space, fitting out the logistics space with LED lighting and installing new docks and shelters.

Niek Poppelaars, Associate Director Logistics & Industrial at Savills Netherlands, says: "This transaction confirms the national no. 1 position of Utrecht-Nieuwegein-Vianen for national distribution. Due to the modernisation of Utrecht DC2, the property is future proof - it is more sustainable and better equipped for the growing e-commerce sector."
