Savills Netherlands launches into flexible office sector with Workthere

Savills Netherlands has today (30 January 2018) announced the launch of Workthere, an exciting new venture introduced to help growing businesses find flexible, co-working and serviced office space across the Netherlands.

Workthere is an entirely new brokerage service and website listing platform - workthere.nl - combining excellent technological experience with best-in-class personal advice.  Workthere offers a professional, easy and transparent way for providers to let their space and occupiers to identify flexible working space that fits their individual needs.

Workthere will service the entire flexible work space market, including well-known brands such as Tribes, Regus and The Office Operators, as well as smaller providers and single-schemes.

The new venture by Savills was launched in the UK in February 2017 and, following this success, the firm is now expanding across Europe with Ireland launched in May of this year, and the Netherlands representing Workthere’s first continental European presence.

Cal Lee, head of Workthere, commented: “Netherlands has witnessed considerable growth in the flexible work space sector, with many new entrants coming to the market. The service in Netherlands will be managed by Wouter Stevens, Head of Agency at Savills Netherlands, working closely with Sander van den Engel, associate director Office Agency.

Wouter Stevens says: “Since 2009 the demand for flexible office space in the Netherlands has increased by 40% and  currently accounts for approximately 2-3% of total office stock. With operators like WeWork, Tribes, Regus and B.Amsterdam expanding rapidly, we expect this percentage to grow by 20-30% yoy over the next five years, following a similar pattern to the UK and US markets. Therefore the launch of Workthere in the Netherlands is incredibly timely and very complimentary to our existing agency services.”

Sander van den Engel, adds: “A large number of operators of serviced offices and co-working workplaces have already joined our platform at the time of the launch. Providers work with Workthere because of the connection to the network of corporate tenants serviced by Savills worldwide, in combination with access to a local network of start-ups to corporates across all sectors.
