Savills recruits director of capital markets in Barcelona

International real estate advisor Savills has appointed Pablo Merino as director of its capital markets team in Barcelona, Spain.

Merino has more than 16 years of experience in the real estate sector, having formerly worked as country head for Silverton in Spain, and prior to this he was a director of asset management at Banco Santander for five years.

The new director of the capital markets team in Barcelona will work closely with Savills 13- strong investment team in Madrid, specialising in offices and retail.

Furthermore, in order to service the growing demand for alternative assets such as healthcare and student housing in Spain, Savills investment team in Barcelona is also developing its expertise in this area. Marc Lopez, has been appointed as Alternative Investments Advisor within the capital markets team and will work with Savills wider global network to advise clients on investment into this burgeoning asset class in Spain.
