06 September 2017

Savills Studley, the leading commercial real estate firm specializing in tenant representation, is pleased to announce its representation of The Marketing Store in an expansion to 35,955 square feet at 55 West Monroe. With this transaction, the tenant will increase its footprint by 15% at the Loop tower where it relocated to from multiple suburban locations in 2013. The agency will now occupy the majority of the 13th and 15th floors.

“Our state-of-the-art and collaborative space at 55 West Monroe has supported recruiting and retaining top talent, innovations in our service lines and seamless interaction with clients that have also relocated downtown,” said Marketing Store CFO, Chuck McDonough. “We are excited to expand our space to support our continued growth in Chicago.”

The Marketing Store is a customer engagement agency that brings people and brands closer together for clients that include McDonald's, Nissan/Infiniti, Coca-Cola, and T-Mobile. The Marketing Store is headquartered at 55 West Monroe and has offices in 12 countries. The agency is privately held as part of HAVI.

“Tenants moving downtown from the suburbs has been a major trend since the start of this cycle,” said Savills Studley Executive Vice President and Chicago Co-Head Robert Sevim. “As these companies have thrived in modern urban space attractive to the best incoming talent and in close proximity to a diverse range of businesses, we should expect to see more expansions and relocations.”

55 West Monroe was designed by world-renowned architect Helmut Jahn and built in 1981. Significant renovations were completed at the 803,000-square-foot Class A tower in 2014. The redevelopment included lobby and entry upgrades, monument signage installation, a new fitness center and common corridor upgrades. Other building amenities include on-site concierge services, conference facilities, a bike room and restaurants.

55 West Monroe is owned by John Hancock Life Insurance Co. (USA), which was represented by Andrea Saewitz of Cushman & Wakefield in this transaction. In addition to Sevim, The Marketing Store was represented by Joe Learner of Savills Studley.
