Cohesity Expands and Relocates to Amenity-Rich Building

13 July 2017

Savills Studley is pleased to announce that Cohesity, the pioneer of hyperconverged secondary storage, has signed a lease for approximately 40,000 square feet of office space on floors seven and eight at Riverpark Tower II, 300 Park Avenue, located in the heart of downtown San Jose.

The technology company is nearly tripling its square footage and is relocating from Santa Clara, where it occupied 14,000 square feet at 471 El Camino Real.

Cohesity is expected to occupy its new space in the fourth quarter of this year, after a custom build-out that features a modern, open aesthetic and provides numerous collaborative areas while also achieving a rich population of meeting rooms throughout the two floors.

“Our new, expanded workplace provides an opportunity to build on our unique corporate culture, improve operational efficiencies and expand internal communications, leading, we believe, to advanced product development and delivery and superior client service,” said Cohesity Head of Human Resources Nicole Rasco.

Joe Brady and Mike Mordaunt, both senior managing directors with the San Jose office of Savills Studley, represented the tenant in the transaction, which also included negotiating short-term expansion space in Santa Clara to accommodate the firm’s ongoing growth and bridge the time gap between its current and future locations.

“We are pleased to see Cohesity establishing a vital presence in downtown San Jose, where community and business are joining together to create a vibrant and accessible urban environment,” said Brady. “The building’s proximity to public transportation, as well as retail and lifestyle amenities, is a key benefit for the company’s workforce and supports its focus on attracting and retaining talent.”

The 16-story, 302,576-square-foot Riverpark Tower II is situated alongside the Guadalupe River in the heart of downtown San Jose. Designed by HKS Architects, the building joins its twin tower, located at 333 W. San Carlos Street, to create a distinctive office building complex. The block-long campus features a central courtyard with lush landscaping, seating and fountains, providing a park-like feel with a strategic and convenient central business district location. Other amenities include a fitness center with showers and lockers, bike-share program, storage and utility shop, ample structured parking with electric vehicle charging stations, and an onsite deli and wine room. The ownership, Steelwave, was represented in the transaction by Anne Ralston and Phil Mahoney of Newmark Cornish & Carey.
