Savills Vietnam Achieves Milestone with ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 Certification in Real Estate Management

The ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standard certifies Savills Viet Nam's commitment to environmental management systems, reflecting Savills commitment to minimising the environmental impact of project management and operations across a growing portfolio of nearly 8 million sqm in Viet Nam. The ISO 14001 standard shows that Savills meets the requirements for environmental management systems, enhancing resource efficiency and productivity, optimising operational costs, and reducing risks and waste. 

Given the significant human resources and human interaction property management requires, a high level of safety is essential. In Viet Nam, Savills property management teams exceed 2,000 staff in more than 100 projects in Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, and Hai Phong to name a few. As such the ISO 45001:2018 certification for occupational health and safety management emphasises Savills commitment to providing a safe and healthy environment for its staff and residents, minimising incidents, and improving the effectiveness of Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) management systems. 

During the ceremony, Mr Neil MacGregor, Managing Director of Savills VietNam, expressed pride in achieving this significant milestone in the pursuit of delivering the highest quality standards.  

"This achievement reflects our commitment, especially in the area of health and safety, to build and maintain top-tier standards. We hope to expand the quality certification process to cover all activities and services provided by Savills Viet Nam," he said. 

These certifications also serve as clear evidence of Savills commitment to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) standards in its business operations in Viet Nam, including the goal of achieving Net Zero by 2030. 

Ms Luu Thi Mai Huong, Director of Certification at Bureau Veritas Vietnam, emphasised that having systems that meet ISO standards requires considerable time and effort for any business. She congratulated Savills for completing and obtaining the certifications in environmental and safety aspects earlier than expected. 

"The ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certifications demonstrate that Savills Viet Nam focuses on enhancing the quality of its business services and cares about the safety and well-being of its employees and occupiers. This provides a solid foundation for the company to maintain these standards and expand the application of appropriate ISO standards to other business activities of Savills in the future,"Ms Huong added. 

Ms. Tran Minh Ai, Senior Director, Property Management, Savills HCMC, shared, "We are proud to achieve ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certifications. They show our commitment to the development and maintenance of service quality, serving as a driving force for continuous improvement of other ISO systems, which benefit our occupiers, stakeholders, and developer partners." 

Ms. Ai stated, "We will not stop here. Savills is committed to maintaining and improving international standards to optimise performance, reduce costs, and enhance the ability to cope with business fluctuations." 

The journey to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications at Savills faced challenges, particularly amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. However, with strong support from leaders and encouragement from managers and chief engineers, the entire team overcame these challenges. Ms. Ai noted, "This process involves implementing new procedures and also meant operational changes throughout our workforce."
