Savills Launches New Iconic Towers in Upper Mt Gravatt

31 August 2016

Savills is cementing its presence across South East Queensland, with the addition of Raykong Property’s $96 million Avion Residences mixed-use development in Upper Mount Gravatt.

Set to become the highest project to rise in Upper Mount Gravatt, Avion Residences will comprise of 174 luxurious two and three bed apartments across two 15-level towers.

Avion Residences is the first Brisbane venture for Raykong Property, a company associated with the Zhang family, which has been developing commercial and residential property in China since 2002.

Savills Residential Projects State Director Peter Neale said that Avion Residences is a key component of the suburb’s wider rejuvenation.

“Avion Residences will set the benchmark in Upper Mount Gravatt and become one of the most significant residential projects to come to fruition in the region.

“The Upper Mount Gravatt catchment is favoured by residents for its proximity to local amenities, public transport nodes, major retail outlets and nearby universities,” said Mr Neale.

“According to Urbis, with the population set to increase by 28,000 new residents by 2036 in the local catchment area we will see an even greater need for housing,” said Mr Neale.

Development Manager Michael Sutherland, of PDS Group, said the developer was excited to be working alongside Savills to deliver the company’s first Australia project.

“Savills is a leading agency in Australia and this partnership will bring a plethora of benefits,” he said.

“Avion Residences will be the first of many Australian projects by Raykong and will showcase our high quality designs and superior finishes that will meet the needs of a discerning market.

“Upper Mount Gravatt is a growing market with expanding infrastructure and limited apartment supply and owner occupiers and investors alike are responding to this.

“The transformation of Mount Gravatt spells opportunity and buyers are taking advantage of that.”

The project is located within 200m of Westfield Garden City and is a short distance from Griffith University’s Mt Gravatt and Nathan campuses as well as Sunnybank, the M1 and South East Busway.
