Fast Food Retail Treat Offered in North Queensland

26 July 2016

A freestanding KFC drive-through restaurant is set to whet appetites in the latest offering by Savills Retail Investments in Queensland.

The drive-through KFC Restaurant is located off the Bruce Highway, adjoining the Annandale Central Shopping Centre and directly opposite the Lavarack Army Barracks in Townsville, North Queensland.

The property, which features a new 10-year net lease, is being offered for sale by Peter Tyson, Jon Tyson and Michael Harcourt of Savills.

Savills National Director of Retail Investments, Peter Tyson said demand for bite-sized property investments in the retail food category continues to run hot due to their affordability, simplicity and long lease security in a market looking for safe-haven “bond-style” investments.

“We are anticipating strong investor interest in this asset by virtue of its blue chip tenant, brand new long term lease, strong retail location and digestible price point, which makes this an ideal investment opportunity for private investors and Self-Managed Superannuation Funds,” Mr Tyson said.

“KFC Annandale benefits greatly from close proximity to a variety of major employers and traffic generators including numerous primary and secondary schools, the James Cook University, Townsville Hospital, Annandale Shopping Centre as well as the expanding Lavarack Army Barracks, Australia’s largest military base which is located directly opposite the property.”

KFC Annandale will be offered for sale via a Formal Tender campaign commencing in late July.
