Savills and Casais breathe new life into Olhão’s Ria Shopping

Savills, through its retail department, has been developing, for three years, a strategy to reposition Ria Shopping, contributing for the increase of the quality of the commercial mall of this region of the south of the country.

During this period, the real estate consulting company has been responsible for placing more than 4.000 sq. m of commercial area in Ria Shopping with several brands that grant prestige to this centre: Domino’s Pizza, JYSK, Fitness UP, Yoyoso and PEPCO. The activity of these brands, widely recognised in the national and international market, boosts the activity of Ria Shopping, which stands out for its dynamics and proximity to the region.

In addition, Savills’ architecture department participated in the refurbishment project of this commercial area, which increased the notoriety of Ria Shopping in this region. The concept materialization for the common areas and new foodcourt, the architectural execution project and detailing of areas of this shopping centre, were some of the works developed.

The collaboration between Savills and Casais boosted the commercial offer of the centre and also added the “attractiveness” factor through the construction of a B&B Hotel with a direct entrance to the commercial surface, being the culmination of an integrated project.

With this project, Savills demonstrates its ability to work across every asset class, and contributes decisively to the commercial success of the projects, adding value to the owners.

“Although the space is still being restructured with the construction of the Hotel B&B on the 2nd floor, and with all the constraints inherent to this situation, and with the bet on the opening of new brands that bring a differentiated and relevant offer to the Olhão market, the Ria Shopping already presents at this stage an increase of more than 13% in its occupancy. We are therefore confident that with the conclusion of the ongoing projects, this indicator will increase significantly”, states Patrícia Alberto, Property Manager for Ria Shopping.
