Savills tells audience of 500 real estate professionals ‘the future looks relatively bright in Scotland’

28 March 2019

Over the course of one hour, and in a series of short, high impact, informative presentations the delegates heard that despite political uncertainty, the wheels of business are turning in Scotland: investors, developers, funds and high net worth individuals are continuing to purchase real estate across all sectors.

The event was chaired by Craig Timney Head of Savills Edinburgh and the line-up comprised:

Faisal Choudhry : Head of Residential Research Scotland

Ben Fox : Head of Residential Edinburgh

- Jamie Macnab : Head of Country Houses Scotland

- Evelyn Channing : Head of Rural Agency Scotland

- Ben Brough: Head of Residential Development Scotland

- George Hepburne-Scott : Development Scotland (Build to Rent/PRS Scotland)

- Mat Oakley:  Head of Commercial Research (UK)

- Isla Monteith: Retail Director Scotland

- Nick Penny: Head of Savills in Scotland and UK Investment Director

Craig said:  “The date for today’s event was carefully chosen to tie in with Brexit so that we could offer some clarity to the market. However, despite the fact the UK remains in a state of political flux, Edinburgh is a global city in high demand.  The value gap on offer north of the border, with high quality opportunities across all sectors, means that the future for Scottish real estate, across commercial, residential, rural and development sectors, looks relatively bright as we continue to buck the UK trend here."
