International real estate advisor Savills has advised EU Business School (EU) on the leasing of a new location to extend its current campus in Barcelona, Spain. EU has let over 3,000 sq m at Diagonal 648, with the aim of providing students, faculty and staff with improved services that will include: more classrooms, offices, study spaces and lounge areas.

The building is brand new and located in a prime position on one of Barcelona’s most important avenues, just across the road from the trendy L’Illa shopping center. It comprises a total space of 3,200 sq m over nine floors and 29 parking spaces distributed over four floors below ground.

Marie Laure Fenet, Head of Office Agency, Savills Barcelona, comments: “The Diagonal building is a significant addition to EU’s current campus in the city. The surrounding area offers plenty of parks, gardens, cafés and restaurants for students and staff to enjoy.”

According to Carl Craen, Vice President and Managing Director at EU Business School: “This is an exciting time for EU. This new campus provides state of the art, high-tech facilities for our ever-expanding student body, creating the perfect environment to maintain and build upon our innovative brand of education.”

Renovations to the new building will take place over the summer in preparation for classes to begin in October for the 2017 academic year. Throughout the summer, classes and offices currently located in the Augusta and Mitre buildings will be relocated to either the Ganduxer or Diagonal buildings. As of October 2017, operations in the Augusta and Mitre buildings will be shut down, with the Ganduxer and Diagonal buildings remaining fully operational.

EU currently has three other main campuses in Geneva, Montreux and Munich.
