20 June 2023

NEW YORK (June 20, 2023) – Savills has once again clinched The Real Estate Board of New York's (REBNY) Most Ingenious Deal of the Year Award, marking the firm’s third consecutive win. Adding to Savills triumph, Andrew Dzenis was named REBNY’s Most Promising Commercial Salesperson of the Year.

Ira Schuman secured the Robert T. Lawrence Memorial Award for representing the Fedcap Group, owners of the training center Civic Hall, in an 85,000-square-foot lease at Zero Irving. Schuman’s submission, titled 'Converting a Done Deal to a Workable Lease: How a Lease Restructuring Made a Digital Skills Training Center Viable at 124 East 14th Street,' highlighted his role in assisting the Fedcap Group navigate a complex transaction with modified lease terms. This resulted in Civic Hall relocating its training center to Zero Irving’s state-of-the-art, Class-A space.

This 'threepeat' underscores the consistent achievements of Savills previous winners - Schuman, Richard Eaddy, and Marc Shapses in 2021, and Jarod Stern in 2022. This victory also signifies Schuman’s fifth REBNY Deal of the Year recognition, situating him within an exclusive group of professionals who have earned this esteemed award on multiple occasions.

“To be awarded REBNY’s Deal of the Year is a testament to the exceptional talent and dedication of the professionals within our firm," said David Goldstein, vice chairman, president of the New York tri-state region. "This accolade showcases the exceptional ability of our professionals to creatively solve our clients' complex needs. It reaffirms our commitment to delivering unparalleled service and innovative solutions in the face of evolving challenges.”

Recognizing the industry's top newcomers since 1966, REBNY honored Dzenis for his remarkable contributions to Savills and unwavering work ethic. Assisting clients in the not-for-profit sector with complex requirements, he has exhibited exceptional performance, leadership qualities, business acumen, and willingness to mentor younger associates.

"We are delighted to celebrate Andrew's accomplishment," said Mitti Liebersohn, vice chairman, chairman, New York Brokerage. "His dedication to his clients and mentorship to our younger associates, paired with his commitment to community service, make him an exemplary role model for all Savills rising stars."

These consecutive Deal of the Year wins underscore the durability and integration of Savills' high-performance platform in North America. Simultaneously, Andrew’s individual achievement demonstrates the firm's commitment to fostering exceptional talent.
