Aronberg Goldgehn to Relocate to 225 W. Washington

25 October 2022

CHICAGO (October 25, 2022) – Savills advised new client Aronberg Goldgehn Davis & Garmisa on a headquarters relocation. The 130-year-old law firm will relocate to a penthouse office suite on the top floor of the 225 W. Washington building in the Loop. The firm will move in early 2023.

Savills Vice Chairmen John Goodman and Eric Feinberg and Associate Director Isabel Preskill were tapped to identify a new real estate strategy for the firm as it sought to elevate its office experience and support its evolving work style. The team collaborated with Workplace Strategist Dawn Dalson to develop multiple programmatic scenarios, conduct surveys and evaluate employee data as the law firm embraced a flexible work environment, including some hotel officing. Savills identified a solution on the penthouse floor of the 225 W. Washington building that would provide an ideal footprint for Aronberg Goldgehn.

“Aronberg Goldgehn is forward-thinking with respect to utilizing office space,” said Goodman. “The opportunity at 225 W. Washington allows the law firm to support its flexible work model in a more effective setting and provides an optimal layout for offices and collaboration spaces. The firm can capitalize on significant pre-existing elements, including high-end finishes and furnishings. The building features abundant light and open-air atrium ceilings that Aronberg Goldgehn can take advantage of on the top floor.”

“The space is unique, featuring multiple private terraces that bring in the feeling of outdoors, which is rare for any building in the Loop,” added Preskill. “The location near the Metra trains and neighborhood attractions will also position the firm for success in its talent recruitment and retention goals.”

Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, 225 W. Washington is a Class A office building near the major Loop commuter rail stations. Its amenities include a conference center, fitness center, outdoor seating area, and coffee shop. During lease negotiations, 225 W. Washington was sold to Agave Holdings LLC, and the company plans to upgrade the building’s amenities and renovate its communal areas, including the lobby.

“We are greatly looking forward to moving our Chicago headquarters into this singular penthouse space at 225 W. Washington and putting a distinctive stamp on our new headquarters,” said Sheri Zaban, Chair of Aronberg Goldgehn’s Real Estate Committee. “With the upgrades Agave has on tap for the building, our new office will be a fitting location as we begin the next chapter in our firm’s 130-year history.”

Additionally, the law firm also opened a DuPage County office at 301 S. County Farm Rd. in Wheaton in 2021.
