Savills Studley Continues Washington, D.C. Expansion, Adds Two Key Hires

Savills Studley, the leading commercial real estate firm specializing in tenant representation, has hired distinguished professionals Dave MacPhail and Sarah Dreyer in the company’s Washington, D.C. office, further expanding the company’s capabilities and expertise in the D.C. metro-region.

MacPhail, who boasts more than 18 years of real estate experience ranging from project management to architectural design, joins as Director, Workplace and Occupancy Strategy. In his new role, he will handle space requirements, locations analysis and workplace strategy for Savills Studley clients in Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia and Baltimore.

MacPhail joins Savills Studley from Deloitte Consulting LLP in Arlington, VA, where he led real estate portfolio strategy development for clients across the United States. Previously, he served as Senior Project Manager at the University of Virginia Medical Center, where he led design and construction projects for the healthcare complex.

A licensed, LEED-accredited architect, MacPhail has also held several high-profile positions in the design industry in New York City. He has worked at firms such as Anbau Enterprises, Robert A.M. Stern Architects and David Brody & Bond Architects. MacPhail graduated with a M.S. of Real Estate Finance from New York University and a B.S. in Architecture from the University of Virginia.

Dreyer, with more than 10 years of experience in research, analytical and client-servicing roles, joins Savills Studley as Director of Research. In her new role, she will oversee all research activities in the Washington, D.C. region.

Dreyer joins Savills Studley from Vornado / Charles E. Smith in Washington, D.C., where she was responsible for all market research activities across the company’s Washington, D.C. platform. Prior, she served as the Mid-Atlantic regional research director for Cushman & Wakefield, where she oversaw the Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Philadelphia research teams, contributed to firm-wide thought leadership, and engaged with clients as a market expert. She graduated with an M.B.A. from George Mason University and a B.S. in English from George Washington University.

The addition of MacPhail and Dreyer to Savills Studley further expands the company’s capabilities and expertise in the workplace and occupancy strategy arena. Last summer, the firm hired workplace strategist Melissa Marsh in its New York office as part of its mission to deliver occupant-centric workplace approaches to clients across all primary business markets in North America.
