Savills Studley Mourns the Loss of its Founder, Julien Studley

26 October 2015

The entire Savills Studley family profoundly mourns the recent death of its former colleague and friend, Julien Studley. As founder of Julien J. Studley, Inc. in 1954, his innovative and visionary approach of representing tenants rather than owners was groundbreaking, changing the commercial real estate industry forever.

As a broker, Julien advocated tenaciously for his clients—a trait that remains in the DNA of our firm’s culture today. As a leader, he supported creativity, collaboration and, yes, a little healthy competition, inspiring people from all walks of life to be the best they could be. Those of us who were brought into the business by Julien are personally grateful to him for his encouragement and support.

We, and indeed the entire industry, would not be where we are today if it were not for him. We extend our deepest sympathies to his wife Jane and his children and grandchildren. Julien’s contributions to the industry and to New York City will not be forgotten.
