Savills Studley’s Stein and London Honored by Maryland Youth Ballet

01 April 2016

The Maryland Youth Ballet (MYB) has presented its Community Service Award to Savills Studley’s Executive Vice President Gary Stein and Executive Managing Director Steve London. Assistant Director Anna Shaffer accepted the award on their behalf, during MYB’s 45th Birthday Bash and Blowout at Kenwood Country Club in Bethesda, MD, on Saturday March 19.

Nearly 200 guests attended the bash celebrating MYB’s 45th birthday. WUSA9 anchor and reporter Larry Miller, a MYB alum, served as the Master of Ceremony for the event, which doubled as an awards ceremony. In addition to the Community Service Award, the Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Hortensia Fonseca, the founder of MYB and Artistic Director Emeritus.

Proceeds from the event will help expand MYB’s education, performance, and outreach programs aimed to prepare young dancers for a career in the performing arts.

Stein and London were honored for providing pro bono real estate advisory services to MYB in connection with its lease renewal located at 926 Ellsworth Dr. Silver Spring, MD. Savills Studley leveraged relocation options and ultimately negotiated a 5-year renewal at its existing location that resulted in occupancy cost savings for MYB.

“We were glad to be able to help the Maryland Youth Ballet because as an organization it provides such a positive service to young people throughout the area,” said Stein.

“The Maryland Youth Ballet gives so much to the community, and local children, that it was nice to be able to give back,” added London.
