Doghouse Agency sign for boutique office

Doghouse Agency has signed a three-year lease for office space at 1 Meyers Place, as part of a growing trend of creative agencies looking to participate in Melbourne’s colourful laneway culture.

Charlie Betts and Alissa Woods of Savills Office Leasing negotiated the three-year lease term at a rate of $558 per sqm on behalf of a private landlord.

“This was a very unique property in the east end of the CBD,” Office Leasing Executive, Ms Woods, said.

“We received strong demand from a wide range of industries but drew most interest from creative tenants.”

The character-filled tenancy features a kitchen and breakout area, grand staircase and courtyard. It has been renovated throughout, and a street artist was commissioned to paint a mural on the laneway-facing exterior.

Mr Betts said Doghouse desired a property that would replicate the success of their Perth tenancy.

“Doghouse was very clear that its top priority was to provide staff with an aesthetically pleasing and uniquely creative working environment,” he said.

“The Meyers Place location offers some of Melbourne’s best amenities.

“In addition, the mural and light-abundant character workspace has provided the ideal creative environment for Doghouse to scale its Melbourne operations.”

The office, once a residential property, was converted to a commercial workplace 10 years ago.
