Savills Officially Established in Hainan

On Dec 20th, Savills Hainan, the 17th branch of Savills China, held an opening ceremony at Baifang Building in Haikou. The opening indicates a solid step towards the Hainan market for Savills. In the future, Savills will further integrate into Hainan and help the development of the island province with its professional real estate services.

This significant moment shows Savills’ commitment to the Hainan real estate market.

Robert McKellar, Executive Chairman of Savills Asia Pacific, expressed his congratulations on the opening of Hainan office: “The Hainan market is seeing a revitalisation with the 21st Century Maritime Silk Route and the favourable policies of the Hainan Free Trade Zone. At this significant moment, Savills China has set up its 17th branch in Haikou to expand its business in this crucial area. Haikou has always been an optimistic city and, with the rapid development of Savills in China in recent years, the establishment of Hainan office is a great step forward.”

Focus on the Free Trade Zone, Harness the Energy

This year is the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening up and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Hainan Province and Special Economic Zone. At the beginning of the year, the State Council announced the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Zone, promoting the formation of a new platform for opening up. As the largest provincial special economic zone in China, the favourable policies have allowed Hainan stand on the wave of opportunities.

Hainan, an important fulcrum on the Belt and Road, has a unique geographical position and is the key to the Maritime Silk Road. The construction of the Hainan Free Trade Zone will bring new opportunities for development of countries and regions along the Belt and Road thanks to the expansion of the area, investment capabilities, business environment and talent introduction.
