ABC to sell its premier landholding in Elsternwick

26 September 2018

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s premier landholding in Elsternwick is expected to be released in the market shortly through an Expressions of Interest campaign.

The national broadcaster’s property at 8 Gordon Street, which occupies a total 11,740sq m site zoned for Residential Growth, is being offered for sale with vacant possession. The ABC has recently moved to newly refurbished accommodation in Southbank.

Savills Australia’s Clinton Baxter, Jesse Radisich and Nick Peden have been appointed to market the property, saying they expected interest from a cross section of the market covering “the full range of developers”, including from the residential, commercial, education, aged-care and healthcare sectors.

To date, there has not been a site of this magnitude that offers a unique array of positive attributes within the inner suburbs of Melbourne. It is favorably zoned Residential Growth, has abundant amenities including retail, public transport, bay beaches, and numerous prestigious schools, and surrounding open space.

It is also a short walk from Elsternwick railway station and the Glen Huntly Road retail strip.
