Savills Vietnam to fund “Supporting tertiary students to succeed” programme in Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation

On Thursday 24/05/2018, Savills Vietnam signed a partnership agreement with Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation (Blue Dragon) to sponsor the “Supporting tertiary students to succeed” programme in 2018. This agreement is part of Savills Cares campaign – a corporate social responsibility (CSR) campaign launched by Savills in early 2018 to better benefit local people and protect the environment. The signing ceremony took place at Blue Dragon’s office, 879 Hong Ha, Hoan Kiem, Ha Noi.

Blue Dragon is a grassroots charity serving children in crisis throughout Vietnam since 2003. Blue Dragon believes that every child deserves the best care that society can offer. Blue Dragon kids are street kids, children with disabilities, and young people who have been trafficked. Blue Dragon rescues kids from danger, reunites them with their families when possible, and provides all the necessary services required for recovery and growth.

Savills Vietnam has cooperated with Blue Dragon since 2013 via various charity work, including financial and resource support aimed to enhance children’s wellbeing. In 2018, with the mutual focus on education – the key to end the poverty cycle, Savills Vietnam and Blue Dragon have aligned the Savills Cares campaign and Blue Dragon’s Tertiary Student Support Programme to support education for children in need. Savills Cares fund will provide 10 two – year scholarships, which will cover tuition fees as well as living allowance, for 10 university students in Blue Dragon’s Tertiary Student Support Programme. Savills Vietnam and Blue Dragon will also work together to design training programmes for students, covering soft skills training, career workshops and real estate courses from Savills experts. These programmes aim to put office jobs, particularly jobs in real estate industry in a friendlier and more realistic perspective for students in Blue Dragon, thus helping them shape and build their career paths before graduation.

Sharing on this partnership, Mr, Michael Brosowski, Founder and CEO of Blue Dragon, said: “We really appreciate the cooperation of Savills Vietnam in our Tertiary Student Support Programme. Children in the programme are from poor families in rural areas with many siblings so their parents cannot afford university tuition fees. Despite such difficulties, our students have achieved excellent academic results and are currently attending reputable universities or colleges in Hanoi, Hue and Da Nang. With the scholarships from Savills Cares fund, we hope that our students continue to pursue their education, achieve excellent results and have a better future.”
