Daikin Chill Out in New Trade Centre Locations

Global air-conditioning giant Daikin has secured two new industrial trade centres totalling a combined rental of $263,750 per annum just in time for another hot Queensland summer.

Savills Industrial and Business Services specialists’ Shaw Harrison and Callum Stenson were appointed by Daikin to assist with finding suitable facilities.

Both of the new Daikin stores open this month, with the Brisbane store located at 1/210 Robinson Road in Geebung totalling 710sq m, and the Gold Coast store located at 26 Lawrence Drive in Nerang totalling 809sq m.

Daikin has committed to a three year lease on both properties, achieving a rental rate of $152 per square metre on their Brisbane based facility and $175 per square metre on the Gold Coast facility.

“While Daikin were particularly specific with their requirements, we identified well over 20 suitable locations after conducting an extensive market search,” Mr Harrison said.

The Geebung property was vacant prior to Daikin signing the lease, and the property owner assisted with renovating the building to suit Daikin’s showroom fit-out requirements.

“The main road frontage along Robinson Road was exactly what they were seeking for their Brisbane display centre, with other trade-based industry users also located along this busy strip,” Mr Harrison said.

The newly constructed Nerang facility was being marketed by GC Commercial after previous tenant was involved in a major fire which required the building to be completely rebuilt.

“The building’s brand new construction was just being completed when we introduced Daikin.

“Our timing was perfect as we were able to slightly tailor a couple of last minute refit details before handover,” Mr Harrison said.
