Savills Studley Completes Michael Best Relocation Lease in DC

Savills Studley today announced the successful completion of a 30,404-square-foot lease for the expansion and relocation of Michael Best & Friedrich LLP. Beginning February 2019, the company will combine two local operations to occupy the fourth floor of 1000 Maine at The Wharf, one of the District’s newest urban developments by PN Hoffman. Vice Chairman and Co-regional Manager Ben Plaisted, Corporate Managing Director Greg Scheipers and Associate Director Mordecai Scott of Savills Studley’s DC office represented the tenant in negotiations.
Michael Best is a full-service law firm with more than 275 lawyers nationally. Covering a broad range of practice areas and industry sectors, the company provides legal services to a diverse range of clients.

Michael Best’s new office will bring its DC legal practice and the firm’s government relations and public affairs consulting group, Michael Best Strategies, under one roof. The firm’s new location will feature single-sized offices, 10-foot floor-to-ceiling windows, modern finishes, flexible and collaborative work areas, and state-of-the-art conference rooms.

1000 Maine at The Wharf is an 11-story trophy property offering tenants access to ample amenities. These include a spa-quality fitness center, 9,000-square-foot rooftop terrace, conference facility and event space. The landlord is represented by Brian Dawson and Amy Bowser of JLL.
