26 March 2018

Savills Studley, the leading commercial real estate firm specializing in tenant representation, announced that it has negotiated a new 12,000-square-foot retail lease for Sichuanese chain Hai Di Lao Hot Pot at Flushing Commons in Queens.

This transaction marks the first East Coast location for Beijing-based Hai Di Lao, which operates in excess of 100 locations in cities across China, with additional sites in Singapore, South Korea and the western U.S. Known as one of the top food services enterprises in China, the restaurant utilizes the freshest, healthiest, heartiest ingredients to produce authentic, traditional Sichuan-style hot pot in a modern dining environment with legendary customer service. Hai Di Lao will occupy the Phase I (38-18 Union Street) of the development.

Yin Li, Managing Director at Savills Studley, represented Hai Di Lao in the transaction.

“Flushing Commons is the ideal place for Hai Di Lao to launch on the East Coast,” said Li. “The cultural vibrancy of the area, quality of the space and proximity to transit and a large Chinese population provide the perfect combination for Hai Di Lao to make a successful introduction to the New York market.”
