Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists Relocates HQ

18 December 2017

Savills Studley, the leading commercial real estate firm specializing in tenant representation, has completed a lease for the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE) in Atlanta. The organization will relocate its national headquarters to a 23,000-square-foot space at 2635 Century Parkway in August 2018.

“In addition to helping accommodate our growth, we challenged Savills Studley to identify a cost-effective location that would help us better recruit and retain top-level talent,” said Jeff Engel, CSTE executive director. “We wanted a high-quality building with convenient access to major amenities and close proximity to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other public health partners. With this new office, we are confident that we can meet the growing needs of our members.”

Located within the Century Center office park, 2635 Century Parkway is a Class-A office tower in the Chamblee/North Druid Hills submarket. The 10-story property offers 210,000 square feet of office space, energy efficient features and ample onsite parking. CSTE will occupy the building’s seventh floor once its current lease at 2872 Woodcock Blvd. expires.

CSTE works to advance public health policy and the capacity of epidemiologists across disciplines and disease categories. It also provides technical advice and assistance to partner organizations and federal public health agencies, such as the CDC.

The Savills Studley transaction team included Executive Managing Directors David Rubenstein, Bo Keatley and John Flack. The landlord was represented in negotiations by John Grimsley of Highwoods Properties.

“Knowing that the FBI would be vacating the entire 2635 building at Century Center, we felt it could be a good option for CSTE. Once we learned about Highwoods’ renovation plans, we knew we found an ideal location,” said Rubenstein. “In spite of the increasingly tightening market, we were able to negotiate attractive lease terms to ensure CSTE will have a high-quality, well-located space at a reasonable cost. We have had a long, successful relationship with CSTE, and we are excited to continue to play a part in the organization’s growth,” he said.

Kevin Rodriguez and Shannon Price, also with Savills Studley, will serve as project managers for the build-out of the new office space.
