Savills Studley Expands Roark Capital Group HQ in Atlanta

13 September 2017

Savills Studley, the leading commercial real estate firm specializing in tenant representation, today announced the completion of a lease renewal and expansion for Roark Capital Group at 1180 Peachtree in Midtown Atlanta. The private equity firm will maintain its presence on the 25th floor and will expand onto half of the 24th floor. The new lease will commence in late 2018.

Savills Studley Executive Managing Directors David Rubenstein, Bo Keatley and John Flack negotiated the lease on behalf of Roark, and Corporate Managing Director Kevin Rodriguez will oversee the buildout of the space.

“While we considered other buildings in Midtown and Buckhead, remaining and expanding at 1180 Peachtree was the right strategic decision for us.  It continues to be one of the premier buildings in Atlanta offering an amenity-rich and centralized location for our employees,” said Roark President Paul Ginsberg. “Despite the incredibly tight Midtown submarket, the Savills Studley team provided the insight and execution we needed to secure the best transaction terms possible and fully delivered on our objectives.”

“Roark has seen significant success and growth over the years and challenged us to secure a premier location that would not only meet their immediate needs but could also afford them the ability to expand over time,” said Rubenstein. “Despite limited availability at 1180, the landlord and Hines worked with us to provide a solution to both Roark’s short term and long term growth needs.   In the end, staying at 1180 Peachtree was best overall solution for Roark.”

Considered one of Atlanta’s premier office buildings, 1180 Peachtree is an award-winning, 41-story property completed in 2006. The building was designed by Pickard Chilton and offers 670,000 square feet of Class A office space, 10-foot floor-to-ceiling windows, retail dining, state-of-the-art fitness and conference centers and onsite parking. The property is managed and leased by Hines. John Heagy and Marie Worsham represented the landlord in negotiations.

Roark Capital Group is an Atlanta-based private equity firm with more than $7 billion in equity capital and commitments raised since inception. Roark focuses on franchised and multi-unit business models in multiple industries including food and restaurants, specialty retail, health and wellness, retail healthcare, environmental services, business services, and education.
